Raspberry Sauce – Hiroko’s Recipes

I bough a bag of Frozen Raspberries. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED when I found most of the Raspberries were broken into tiny pieces. I picked good ones to make a dessert, and a lot of broken crumbles were left. What would you do with them? I made this sauce. It was the easiest option.

Ingredients

250g Frozen Raspberries
1/4 cup Sugar
1 tablespoon Water *optional
1 tablespoon Liqueur of your choice *optional, e.g. Cointreau, Kirsch, Grand Marnier, etc.

Method

Place Frozen Raspberries in a heat-proof bowl and microwave for 1-2 minutes. This will speed up the cooking process.Place Raspberries and Sugar in a saucepan, add 1 tablespoon Water OR Liqueur of your choice, and bring to the simmer over medium low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until desired consistency is achieved. It won’t take long.*Note: Alter the amount of Sugar. If the Raspberries lack acidity, add some Lemon Juice, and simmer.
