
‘Goma-ae’ is a very popular Japanese dish and it is made with ‘Goma-ae’ sauce, which is a sweet sauce of ground toasted sesame seeds and it goes very well with many vegetables. Sometimes ‘Kurumi’ (Walnuts) is used instead of Sesame Seeds, and the dish is called ‘Kurumi-ae’. You can use Peanuts, too. This ‘Peanut-ae’ sauce also goes very well with many vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, and etc.

Ingredients
350g Beans
*Beans can be replaced with Spinach, Carrot, Asian Mushrooms (e.g. Shiitake & Shimeji), Broccoli, Asparagus or other vegetables.
‘Goma-ae’ Sauce
1/4 to 1/3 cup Roasted Unsalted Peanuts *ground
1 tablespoon Sugar
2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
Method
Grind Roasted Unsalted Peanuts fairly finely, add Sugar and Soy Sauce, and mix well to make sauce.Cut Beans in bite size and boil until tender, then drain. If you use Shiitake or Shimeji, grill or stir-fry in a frying pan.Combine Beans and the sauce.
