Q&A

Why are there tiny brown bits in my salt?
This is actually roasted brown rice. We added roasted brown rice to the wasabi salt to add help add texture. When you bite down, you might feel a slight crunch. Don’t worry, this is the rice mixed into our salt.
Is there any horseradish in this salt?
No, we only used real wasabi leaves for this wasabi salt. Horseradish is often used to mimic the spiciness of wasabi in many manufactured products. However, for this product, we made sure to include grinded wasabi leaves to give you a more authentic flavor and aroma.
Why is the expiration date so short?
The expiration date for our wasabi salt is not necessarily the expiration date for the salt. It is more of an expiration date for the wasabi leaves. Wasabi in general have a very short life span and our expiration date is shorter than a lot of other salts in the market due to the wasabi leaves having a shorter shelf life.
This does not necessarily mean that the product will go bad after the expire date. It is more of an indication that the maximum aroma and flavor will start to slowly decrease after the expiry date.
Can I cook with Wasabi Salt?
Yes! Although it is usually recommended that you do not cook with wasabi, you can cook with this wasabi salt. As always, we recommend a lower heat setting for the shortest amount of time to help preserve the flavor and aroma of the wasabi leaves.
