[Update: Opening week August 1-7, 2020 entrance is by reservation only, available at https://peatix.com/event/1565199 ] Omnipollos Tokyo is the first Japanese outlet of the trendy Stockholm-based beer producer and lifestyle brand Omnipollo. Ten or eleven of the company’s contract-brewed beers are available at any given time, ranging from familiar styles like Pilsner, Pale Ale and IPA to more experimental creations like Blackberry Wine, Raspberry Maple Pie, and Peanut Butter Chocolate Biscuit Vanilla. The latter group of flavors incorporate soft-serve ice cream as part of the drink, and the bar is equipped with four soft-serve dispensers, which are an integral part of the operation.
The dessert-like beer offerings seem to be well put together, nicely balanced and not overly sweet. We tried an 11% Imperial Stout with Pecan Mud Cake soft serve that worked quite well, and the more standard styles like IPA also hold their own. The food menu focuses on fancy hot dogs and artisanal cole slaw, although it may expand in the future. The decor is sensibly stylish, with a distinctive Nordic personality.
