Akebonobashi: Beer bar
This neighborhood craft-beer bar serves mostly imported beers on draft from twelve taps, along with a “bistro-style” food menu of small dishes. Beers are relatively exotic and diverse – on a recent visit we found brews from Edge Brewing (Spain), Saltaire, Anarchy Brew and Twisted Barrel Ale (UK), Malheur (Belgium) and Georgetown Brewing (Washington State). They’re just a bit higher-priced than average (medium-size glasses are Y1100-1200), but there’s no table charge.
Seating is on high stools at three long communal tables (turning into six smaller tables at lunch), and there’s ample standing room along the room’s wrap-around counter. At lunchtime they serve voluminous plates featuring Lu Rou Fan (Taiwanese minced pork and rice) paired with chicken karaage or Hayashi Rice, starting at Y1000.
