Bohnenhase Bento: Bento #33: Totoro Hiyashi Soba Bento

I love anime movies. I like especially the films of Studio Ghibli. I have seen these films so many times, that I think I can it almost by heart 😉 My favorite character of all is and remains “Totoro”. But I think that many of you feel like me 😉

Ich liebe Anime Filme. Besonders gerne mag ich die Filme von Studio Ghibli. Die Filme habe ich schon so oft gesehen, dass ich sie glaube ich schon fast auswendig kann 😉 Mein Lieblingscharakter ist und bleibt von allen aber “Totoro”. Aber ich glaube das geht vielen von euch bestimmt auch so 😉

This time I’m oriented not only to Totoro, but also at the Japanese summer dish Hiyashi Chūka. So I’ve combined both. Right now in the summer really tasty. The recipe for Hiyashi Chūka I have posted already last year here on my blog.

Because the Chūka noodles (Chinese noodles) were too bright for the Totoro, I replaced by Soba noodles (Japanese buckwheat noodles). Eyes and stomach are cut out of goat cheese. Pupils, nose, and the strips are punched out of nori.

Diesmal habe ich mich nicht nur an Totoro, sondern auch an dem japanischen Sommergericht Hiyashi Chūka orientiert. So das ich beides kombiniert habe. Gerade jetzt im Sommer wirklich sehr lecker. Das Rezept für Hiyashi Chūka habe ich bereits letztes Jahr hier schon mal gepostet. 

Da die Chūka Nudeln (chinesische Nudeln) aber zu hell für den Totoro waren, habe ich sie durch Soba-Nudeln (japanische Buchweizennudeln) ersetzt. Augen und Bauch sind aus Ziegenkäse ausgestochen. Pupillen, Nase und die Streifen sind aus Nori ausgestanzt.

Of course, the small “Makkuro Kurosuke” (small soot balls) may not missing in a Totoro bento. I have cut it with the scissors out of nori. The eyes are also made of goat cheese and nori. To the whole I’ve made a dressing of soy sauce, sesame oil, mirin, rice vinegar and sugar. The recipe for the dressing you will find also on the Hiyashi Chūka recipe.

Natürlich dürfen bei einem Totoro Bento auch die kleinen “Makkuro Kurosuke” (kleine Rußbällchen) nicht fehlen. Sie habe ich aus Nori ausgeschnitten. Die Augen sind ebenfalls aus Ziegenkäse und Nori.
Zu dem ganzen habe ich dann noch ein Dressing aus Sojasauce, Sesamöl, Mirin, Reisessig und Zucker mitgenommen. Das Rezept für das Dressing findet ihr ebenfalls bei dem Hiyashi Chūka Rezept.
