Preheat oven to highest setting, (approximately 550º Fahrenheit.) Remove stone from wood tray and place in oven, heat for approximately 45 minutes. Once heated, carefully remove the stone and place on the wood tray. WARNING: The stone will be very hot and heavy. Use oven mitts to remove the stone. Place your meat on the stone and let it cook! Meat should cook for about 5 – 15 minutes depending upon thickness of meat and desired doneness. For best results, lightly coat meat with olive oil or butter to reduce sticking and season aggressively with salt and pepper for flavor. Choose meats that are no more than 1.5″ thick. Eat while you cook – cut the meat while on the stone to reduce cooking time. But for Best Results consume right away or allow the meat to rest for an appropriate amount of time so the juices stay in the meat when sliced rather than run all over your cutting board.
