It may seem sudden, but if you’ve picked up this book, chances are you’ve wondered if you want to taste world cuisines in Tokyo. While Japanese cuisine is great, there may be times when you simply crave something different. Tokyo is renowned as an international city, so I suppose many people anticipate being able to indulge in foods from all over the world. Some may find themselves constantly eating Japanese foods and yearning for their homeland’s cuisine. Even I, when traveling abroad, sometimes find myself longing for Japanese rice balls or miso soup. For those who love to explore new tastes, I have compiled a book featuring international foods from 100 countries around the world that you can enjoy in Tokyo. As the international food enthusiast, I have visited over 365 restaurants offering delicious and rare international cuisine in Tokyo on weekends, and have also traveled to more than 60 countries to savor authentic international dishes. With this book, you can discover unknown world foods in Tokyo and experience the excitement of being abroad. Let’s embark on a world gourmet journey through Tokyo!

An office worker who spends my weekends exploring Tokyo’s “delicious and exotic international cuisines,” consuming over 365 restaurants a year. I have traveled to over 60 countries, tasting authentic international cuisines along the way. I have discovered over 2,500 establishments so far. While casually dining around, I am struck by a piping hot pie I encounter in wintry England. “There are so many delicious dishes in the world!” I think. Upon returning to Tokyo, I find the same pie locally. Alongside a sense of nostalgia, I am amazed by the opportunity to enjoy cuisines from around the world while in Tokyo. Inspired to share this experience and hoping others could feel the same, I start my blog focusing on Tokyo’s international foods. Through my blog and social media presence, I eventually gain recognition, leading to appearances as an international food expert on shows like “Friday Voice Log” on TBS Radio and “Pop UP! Kuroto Banzuke” on Fuji Television. In 2023, to convey Tokyo’s international cuisine in a more realistic manner, I officially start the podcasts in Japanese. My podcast is featured on “Hashimoto Nao and Suzuki Mahiko’s CROSSPOD” on Nippon Broadcasting, recommended as a must-listen for the autumn appetite! It is introduced as a food-themed program. I continue my culinary journey towards achieving “Eating Around the World with Tokyo Gourmet”.
