I used my ‘1-Hour Focaccia’ recipe to make this ‘Pull Apart Garlic Bread’, so this yummy bread can be made in 1 hour. To achieve the crusty bottom of the bread, you’d better use a cake tin or a baking tin. The ceramic pie dish like this one in the photo looks nice but the bottom of the bread won’t get crusty in 10 minutes.
3/4 cup Warm Water
1 teaspoon Dry Yeast
1 tablespoon Sugar
2 tablespoons Olive Oil
2 cups Bread Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
30g Butter *softened
1 teaspoon grated Garlic
1 teaspoon Dry Italian Herb Mix
Parsley *finely chopped
Place Warm Water, Dry Yeast and Sugar in a bowl, mix gently and set aside.
Place Bread Flour, Baking Powder and Salt in a large bowl, and mix to combine. Make a well in the centre and pour in the yeast mixture and Olive Oil. Mix well to form a soft dough. Knead for 2 to 3 minutes, adding extra flour if required, until smooth and elastic.
In a small bowl, mix softened Butter, Garlic and Herb Mix. Save 1 tablespoonful for glazing.
Divide the dough into 4-5cm balls, coat them with the garlic butter and place evenly in a baking dish or a tin. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside in a warm place for 30-40 minutes.
Preheat oven to 200℃.
Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden. Spread the remaining garlic butter all over, sprinkle with some chopped Parsley, and enjoy.
